2023 MCC Edwin Malitis Memorials

The Malitis Memorials is divided into two tournaments - a Major tournament and a Minor tournament. Players seeking to play in the Major tournament must have a FIDE or ACF rating of 1600 or above.

Both tournaments are FIDE and ACF rated.

Round 1: Mon 10th Jul, 7.15pm
Round 2: Mon 17th Jul, 7.15pm
Round 3: Mon 24th Jul, 7.15pm
Round 4: Mon 31st Jul, 7.15pm

Round 6: Mon 14th Aug, 7.15pm
Round 7: Mon 21st Aug, 7.15pm

Byes
Player may take up to two half point byes for rounds 1-5
If you want a round 1 bye you must have have fully paid your entry to be paired. Refunds are available if notified 24 hours before the event.

Format
Major
(Players must have a FIDE rating or ACF rating of 1600 or above immediately before the start of round 1)
7 Round Swiss Tournament, ACF and FIDE rated

Minor (Players with FIDE and ACF ratings under 1600 immediately before the start of round 1)
7 Round Swiss Tournament, ACF and and FIDE rated
Acceptance of entry from an unrated player (i.e. a player without either an ACF or FIDE rating) will be at the discretion of the tournament organiser.

Time Control
Major

90 minutes per game + 30 seconds per move.

Minor
60 minutes per game + 30 seconds per move.

Forfeit time for both Major and Minor tournaments is 30 minutes after the advertised start time.

$70 Full Member, $60 Concession / Junior Member (add $15 for Non-Members)
Early bird discount of $10 if paid by Saturday 8th July
Free entry for Club Member GMs/WGMs, IMs/WIMs and FMs/WFMs and non Victorian GMs/WGMs and IMs/WIMs.

Minor
$60 Full Member, $50 Concession / Junior Member (add $15 for Non-Members)
Early bird discount of $10 if paid by Saturday 8th July
